What Professionals Should Assist In The Short Sale Process? Part III

This is the third installment of this series of blogs which focuses on the types of professionals that a short sale seller should enlist when entering into the short sale process. Part I of this blog focused on the Real Estate Professional. Part II of this blog focused on the Real Estate Attorney. Part III will focus on the Tax Professional.

Tax Professionals are the final professional with which to consult in the short sale process. They are licensed to provide tax advice. Most loss mitigation options, including short sales, can result in tax ramifications. Receiving tax advice prior to completing the short sale process ensures the Seller is aware of and prepared for tax ramifications, if any.

It is best to be in control of this loss mitigation option as much as possible. By enlisting the assistance of the above three professionals, a Seller is able to obtain the most amount of accurate information, upon which they can rely, in order to make informed decisions.
