Independent Foreclosure Review- Part 2

What is the Independent Foreclosure Review? The Independent Foreclosure Review provides homeowners, who were in foreclosure during the time period of January 1, 2009 to December 31, 2010, the opportunity to request an independent review of the foreclosure process.

This Independent Foreclosure Review is not for everyone who was in foreclosure during this time. The Independent Foreclosure Review only applies to fourteen (14) mortgage servicers and their affiliates. For a complete list of all the entities involved click here.

If the Independent Foreclosure Review determines that the actions of the servicer, during the foreclosure process, injured the homeowner, the homeowner may be entitled to compensation.

Personally, I cannot wait to see how this turns out. I am inherently skeptical at this point. First, I want to know who the reviewers are going to be. What was required to apply for the job? What credentials were required? What training will be required, and who will be providing the training? How much will they be compensated per file? How much forensic work will be required? The list goes on.

Unfortunately, I do not think this program will pan out as it was meant to be. We will keep you up to date on this.
